Our Story

Over the past 38 years, we have dedicated our working life to growing all sorts of crops – from squash to kiwifruit. In 2008, our shared love of wine and hospitality sparked a desire within us to create a sustainable vineyard in the heart of the Bay of Islands.

Fast forward to the present day. We’re now realizing this dream, producing half a dozen varieties of wine, brewing delicious craft beer, delivering mouthwatering food and regularly hosting live events with up to 5,000 people. As a key stop on the Northland Wine Trail, we’re proud to serve quality New Zealand wine whilst caring for the environment and giving back to our community.

Cellar Door

Fine wines, gourmet food and a relaxing environment are hallmarks of the Kainui Road Cellar Door experience. Our seasoned staff are passionate about wine and love to share their local knowledge.

We have tasting platters available and a selection of delectable wines on offer. Food lovers often tell us that this is one of their favourite things to do in the Bay of Islands.
